This weekend has something for all levels of flyers so come willing to sweat, play, and let go of some old fears!
Friday Session (7:15-9:15pm): Grow Your Inversions
Beginner: This inversions basics workshop is designed to make you comfortable to go upside down. We will discuss the fundamentals of inversions; begin with an inversion specific warm-up followed by core work, headstand A & B, forearm balance, and handstand at the wall.

Saturday Session (2:00-4:30pm): Fly Like a Yogi
Intermediate: This workshop is playful on purpose to get you out of your head and flying with ease. While staying grounded in the essential elements of alignment, we will play with creative ways of balancing away from the wall. Expect a strong Vinyasa warm-up, plenty of core-work, and lots of fun.

Sunday Session (12:00-2:35pm): Fun with Flying
Intermediate & Advanced: For the advanced yogis, this workshop will focus on slowing things down and moving exclusively from the core to control your inversions. We will discover the importance of the abdominals as we play with scorpion in forearm balance and handstand.

This is an All Levels Class!
Playing Upside Down: From Fear to Fun!
In this workshop we will explore inversions with a sense of adventure, curiosity and most of all fun! Inversions are for everyone and are extremely beneficial in strengthening the body and focusing the mind. We will work on the strength and flexibility needed for inversions, develop core awareness and discover proper alignement for floating and flying. We will explore headstand, forearm balance, and handstand. In addition we will explore how different variations and the use of props make inversions approachable to just about anyone! Come expecting to sweat, laugh, play and fly!

Join Angela Kukhahn and Aimee’ Donahue for a memorable night of yoga, play, and a chance to get to know your fellow yogis a little bit better. This class is ALL levels and is part yoga class, part mixer. Come alone or bring a friend, doesn’t really matter as there will be a lot of mixing! Doing yoga poses with a partner can be a little uncomfortable at first, but also can be a great way to deepen your poses and your connection to others. Come with an open mind and a sense of play!

Operation Shanti Yoga Fundraiser Shout Out!

Teachers at The Operation Shanti FundraiserThis post is really looooooong overdue and I apologize!

I wanted to post to acknowledge the amazing-ness that transpired in March for the Operation Shanti Yoga Fundraiser! (To view a photo album of the event click HERE or click on Garth’s name to view another album on his facebook page)

My good friend and yoga teacher Garth Hewitt has taken it up the commendable task of holding yoga fundraisers to build an orphanage for underprivileged children in Mysore, India!

I feel really honored that I was one of the teachers that he chose to be a part of this event. The other incredible teachers were  Suzy Nece , Jo Tastula, Julie Rader ,Genevieve Fischer , Marla Wedge , Greville Henwood
and himself Garth Hewitt.


There were also a lot of others who put in a lot of time, energy and love into the fundraiser they include  Greta Recinto-Casino (organizer) Michael Jammerz Callon (DJ) Alex Yogitoes (Yogitoes, and organizer) Karen Komenkul (organizer) Hale Davis (photographer) Susan Singer (Yoga Earth), Nu (organizer, … think I spelled her name wrong) and the Manduka team (donated yoga mats and goodies) and many more that I don’t know their names.

The event was amazing! We had around 85 students that came (or that is what I counted anyways) and managed to raise over $8,000.00 to go towards building a new orphanage for these adorable children!

Afterwards there was a healthy shot of vitamins from Yoga Earth (beats jagermeister any day) and then a raffle and a live auction. I want  to give a shout out to some of my wonderful and incredibly generous friends who came through with donations!

Thanks to all of my talented friends…

Josh Gil who auctioned off a dinner for 7 where he takes you to the farmers market helps you choose ingredients and then cooks for you and 7 of your lucky friends. He also gave away two tickets to Supper Liberation Front which is a Los Angeles based collective of professional chefs who offer one four-course menu for $35 at an unknown location in LA. The menu changes weekly.

Leelu Morris who contributed an all day photo shoot session. I just did my second shoot with her and she is so fantastic to shoot with!

Seda Aksut who gave a Reiki healing session. I am looking forward to doing a session as well one of these days!

Robert Sturman blessed us with some of his amazing art, I gotta admit I was a little jealous of the person who went home with the praying monks!
