A college professor came to a Zen master one day seeking knowledge. The Zen master sits down to tea with the professor . She places the teacup in front of the professor and begins to pour. The cup fills, and then begins to spill over the sides. Seeing this the professor shouts at her and says “Stop! The cup is full! Can’t you see? It can’t hold anymore!” To that the wise old Zen master smiles and says “And so it is with you. Your mind too, is too full of too many things. Only when you empty it will there be room for more knowledge to come in.”
What can you let go of to make space? How can you become empty so that you can become filled? Where can you prune back the old to allow new growth in your life?
Hmm that’s interessting but to be honest i have a hard time seeing it… wonder what others have to say..
